Local hospice launch new enterprise

Skanda Vale Hospice  https://www.skandavalehospice.org/

the only volunteer led hospice in the UK, has welcomed the first guests into its brand new bunkhouse  https://www.skanda-hafan.com/en/aboutus  which will provide a crucial income stream for the hospice.

The hospice will receive £260,000 from the Brechfa Forest Wind Farm Community Fund over the next 5 years to fund the purchase of the purpose built bunk house and mixture of self-catering accommodation. The Skanda Vale Temple is visited by almost 100,000 pilgrims annually, the new bunk house will provide accommodation for those visitors. The income generated through this enterprise will reduce Skanda Vale’s reliance on grants, allowing them to expand the care they offer to their clients to include a new end of life service.

Skanda Vale Hospice cares for families who have been affected by life limiting illnesses, managing physical symptoms, and helping people find dignity, peace of mind and acceptance of the challenges they face. Their services are provided free of charge and they are the only facility of their kind locally. To hear more about the project from Brother Michael  watch the video below.
